CRISIS INTERVENTION

 TRAINING & MANAGEMENT

          Crisis Intervention Training and Management is derived from the "Therapeutic Crisis Intervention" (TCI) program as developed by Cornell University.

          A key element of TCI is the establishment of techniques which are safe and reduce the possibility of injury, and an approach which promotes learning and a planned approach.

          Crisis Intervention Training and Management is a program which is a systematic and process oriented approach to crisis intervention. Used as a model, it is effective in diffusing situations where aggressive and escalated behaviour exists and in situations where violence is possible.

          Crisis Intervention Training and Management is a model which emphasizes a planned, safe and secure approach to crisis . It is based on techniques of prevention and physical intervention.

         

THE FOUNDATION
 Crisis Intervention Training and Management is intended to be a permanent, ongoing program in an organization. Through full training sessions, to de-briefings to regularly scheduled refresher sessions, the process of crisis intervention becomes integrated into day to day operations.
